We are taking a look back to the end of last year including giving you a brief update of the two week tour of Ireland we organised for a local pop rock band. Although Ireland is an exhausting 17 hour boat ride away from us here in Normandy, we are lucky to have a regular ferry service from nearby Cherbourg.

In October Groupe Nathalie Drey went on their 5^th tour of Ireland. They played venues in Cork, Kinsale. Dublin, Galway, Wexford, Arklow & Kilkenny, 9 dates in all which also included their 50th gig with Agence 53 and of course we marked the occasion with a special souvenir. → →

Because of the recession in Ireland we did find some places closed down but other venues have determinedly survived and the band played at some regular haunts where they have built up a fan base over the years. We always try to add new venues to each tour and this time it included a large theatre in Cork and the band's first ever visit to Galway where they played two gigs.

Surprisingly, there are quite a few venues in Ireland that now offer live music 7 nights a week, which just goes to show how much the Irish love a good tune ♫

Also in October we were interviewed by local newspaper, Ouest France. We talked about the agency and what it can offer to clients for their events and about the prestigious label 'Manche' that Agence 53 has recently been awarded.

In November the television channel France 3 contacted us to see if the planned withdrawal of Brittany Ferries from Cherbourg and Portsmouth was going to affect our business. Certainly, when we need to send our artistes to the UK it's going to be more complicated to get them there and increase travel times but fortunately there are other ports and ferry services available to us and we remain optimistic

At the end of November we were approached by la Chambre de Commerce. Throughout 2012 'TITANIC l'Evenement' is being held at la Cité de la Mer in Cherbourg together with many other Titanic events all around the Cotentin region. Its 100 years since the ship's maiden voyage brought her to Cherbourg and la Chambre de Commerce have embraced this project as an opportunity to promote not only the event but the area of Cotentin as well.
