The role of the agency - Agence53 is an entertainment agency set up to help French variety artistes to find employment both in France and all over the world. It will also help venues and clients to employ French artistes. The agency will liaise between French speaking artistes and French or English speaking clients.

Care will be taken to match suitable entertainers with appropriate venues; however it may not always be possible for an agent to visit every venue or to meet every client. As much information on the venue as possible will be supplied to the artiste and as much information as possible on the artiste will be supplied to the client.

Once Agence53 has received a confirmed booking from a client and the fee is agreed, including a standard agency fee, a contract will be drawn up. The contract will be signed by the artiste(s) and the client(s) and both client(s) and artiste(s) will receive a copy. Once the contract is signed a payment of 10% of the artistes fees plus the agency fee must be made to Agence53. The client may also be asked to advance the cost of purchasing a ticket(s) to travel at this stage. The remaining balance will become payable immediately following the contracted event. In cases where bookings are made at short notice, payment may be required in full once the contract is signed. An invoice will be supplied together with full payment details.

Payments for all bookings must be made directly to Agence53. Agence53 will determine the currency exchange rate to be used at that time if need be. The payment amount due as shown on the invoice must be the payment amount received by Agence53 regardless. Please note that for payment by International Bank Transfer, the preferred means of payment, charges may vary from bank to bank. Because of the high costs involved in cashing a euro cheque and the delay in waiting for it to clear, they will only be accepted by prior agreement and on payment of all bank charges, the same applies for sterling cheques.

All cancellations from clients should be in writing. There will be no refund of the standard agency fee. Additional cancellation charges will be incurred by the client once the contract is signed. If a cancellation is made less than one month in advance, no refund will be offered but the booking may be re-arranged if it is to everyone's satisfaction. The price of any travel ticket may be reimbursed unless it is a non refundable ticket.

In the unlikelihood of an artiste(s) having to cancel or being unable to perform once the contract is signed, for example due to illness or injury, every attempt will be made to replace them with another suitable artiste(s) or to offer an alternative date if it is to everyone's satisfaction. The client is strongly advised to take out suitable insurance cover. In case of cancellations or delays that are not the fault of the artiste(s), for example due to bad weather, travel delays or any other reason charges will be incurred.

Neither Agence53 nor their agents, remain in any way liable for any cancellations made by the artiste(s) or the client. However, Agence53 will be pleased to offer both client(s) and artiste(s) help and advice to resolve any concerns to everyone's satisfaction.
